If I could go back in time and have a sit-down with my younger self, I would tell that young lady to go boldly into who you are called to be. If they think you're too loud, so what. If they think your assertiveness is aggressive, one of you needs to be elsewhere. If they find your natural hair too wild or uncontrolled, then move on to where your crowning glory, ideas and festive spirit are valued or create that space for yourself and others.
Your battle scars are part of what makes you beautiful on the inside. Give the people what they want, even if they don't know they want it. Don't diminish who you are to make others feel comfortable with who they think you should be.
Be kind. Be thoughtful. Be gracious. Be bold. Be truthful. Be loving. Be intelligent. Be outspoken. Be intentional. Be, baby girl. Be who God called you to be. There is no mistake in your DNA. Walk on in that board room with your curly locks, big smile, infectious laugh and bright ideas. They will appreciate you for it right now. How you move doesn't require a MOVEMENT to justify itself. You are unique and you bring something to the table that no one else can bring - yourself. Own every ounce of who you are today. Every little bit of you is purposeful. That is all. Carry on with yo bad, and I do mean good, self.
